Founded in 1977 to provide petroleum-product transport in the Gulf of Mexico—at a time when little infrastructure existed—the company began with a single vessel and quickly mastered shallow-draft operations, growing into a modern fleet for river and coastal work. That specialization made it the leading fuels supplier to the Yucatán Peninsula in the 1980s and naturally expanded the expertise into tugboats and deck barges, supporting projects that drive regional development.

Over the years, the operation evolved into a versatile fleet of Anchor Handling Tugs, Offshore Support Vessels, and Deck Barges, backed by a team known for knowledge, professionalism, and delivering on promises—your local partner with world-class experience. Headquarters are in Mexico City, with offices in Tampico and Dos Bocas, plus representative agencies in the main ports of the Gulf Coast: Veracruz, Ciudad del Carmen, Tuxpan, Coatzacoalcos, Progreso and Seybaplaya, Campeche. A maritime terminal and shipyard in Tampico perform maintenance for both our vessels and third-party units. To stay close to international clients, Armamex International, Inc. in Houston, TX provides consulting and advisory for offshore, chartering, and project-cargo work in Mexico.
